- Open File Explorer and navigate to the following path:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application
- Right-click the Chrome app, select 'Rename', and add a '1' at the end.
- After that, right-click 'chrome1' and create a Desktop shortcut by selecting Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)
- Right-click the desktop shortcut and rename it to 'Chrome'
- If Chrome was previously in your taskbar, unpin it and drag this new shortcut to your taskbar.
If the above steps don't work, follow these steps.
- Open the Command Prompt by searching for it from the Start Menu. Right-click it and select 'Run as administrator'
- Type in 'resetlog.txt' and hit enter.
- Type 'netsh winsock reset' and hit enter.
- Type 'ipconfig /flushdns' and hit enter. Exit once the flushdns is completed.
