If your extension is registered on more than two computers, you will need to deauthorize it from a previous computer before signing into the next; otherwise, call handling may not work as expected for inbound calls.
-
- From the browser, sign in to the RingCentral account for your extension
- Navigate to the Phones & Numbers section of the Settings.
- Select the Phones tab, then click Edit on the RingCentral Phone you want to deauthorize.
- Click Deauthorize the Computer.
- If your line is registered on multiple computers, you will need to do this on all instances of your softphone.
- If you are already signed in to your RingCentral desktop app on the computer you wish to use, then you will need to logout, close the program, right-click on the RC Phone app icon in the systems tray to fully exit the program.
- Once the RC Phone app has completely closed, relaunch the app and sign in.
- Restarting your computer is recommended as well before signing into the RC Phone app again.
- Refresh the RingCentral settings page in the browser and confirm that the softphone is assigned to your current computer.
